Suicide Awareness Walk , Walk from Ogba To Alausa to create awareness about suicide
Thumbs Up also co-facilitated in a program at Alimosho Local government area, the theme was “Who am I? It was focused toward helping young people get to figure out who they really are so they can navigate themselves through life and find a meaningful and fulfilling life.
This program was organized by Crescendo music school in Lekki and was sponsored by Diamond Bank. It was geared towards encouraging youth to be all they wanted to be. Mrs. Gloria Adaba was invited as one of the facilitators at this event. Students from various secondary schools in Lagos Island took part in the event and the results were tremendous.
- Victoria Island
Thumbs up started in January 2017 as “Self-leadership program”. It was a (once-in-a-week) program that lasted four weeks in Victoria Island Junior secondary school, Victoria Island Lagos state, Nigeria. During the program, the youth were taught the importance of self-leadership as the foundation of effective people leadership. One of the radio shows for our target audience, the youth is Generation X aired on 99.3 FM every Saturday between the hours of 11 am and 12 noon. The show is hosted by a young radio presenter, OnyinyechiEkumankama. Thumbs Up Initiative provides resources to help young people in various areas of interest. Some of the past shows are: Taking Charge, Leadership Development, Who am I? etc
